The Pocono Indian Museum traces the history of the Delaware (Lenape) Indians dating back from 10, 500 B.C.

The Pocono Indian Museum traces the history of the Delawares through displays of ancient artifacts, weapons and tools that form chronological commentary on life among the Indians for thousands of years. It is the only museum in Northeast PA dedicated to the history of the Delaware Indian. The museum will inform and, perhaps, shock you. It will show you the history of man in Northeastern PA from 10,500 BC to the contact period with European man prior to the American Revolution. It will show the Delaware Indians’ peaceful coexistence with other Indians, and, it will detail the shocking and short 100 years it took European man to virtually eliminate traces of the Indians’ existence. The Pocono Indian Museum’s extensive gift shop offers Native American pottery, dolls and jewelry. It also features a book department with over 650 titles on Native American tribes, history, customs and medicines.
